Decision Over Lockdown Extension Not Been Taken By Govt Yet: Union Minister Prakash Javadekar

Nations will take note of India's fight against Covid-19 and more businesses will invest in us, says Javadekar

New Delhi: In an interaction during ABP News' flagship E-Shikhar Sammelan programme, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the lockdown has brought in much-needed discipline among people to follow the safety habits related to Covid-19 and imbibe them in their daily lives. While speaking to Sumit Awasthi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said that the lockdown has shown the unity of people who stood up against Covid-19 amid the lockdown. He also said that as off yet, the government has not taken any decision to extended the nationwide lockdown. Javadekar also praised that the countrymen saying people have understood the significance of practices such as washing hands, maintaining social distancing, masking besides other things to keep the dreaded virus away. The Information and Broadcasting Minister said that after 'Ramayan' serial is over in Doordarshan, the channel plans to air 'Krishna'. He said as of now there is no information on whether the PM Narendra Modi will address the nation in the coming days. He has hinted that the red zones will witness restrictions and tightened measures. The minister said that buses and trains will resume enabling stranded passengers such as students, labours etc to return back to their original places but keeping in mind the social distancing norms. WATCH | Prakash Javadekar's Full Interview At ABP News' E-Shikhar Sammelan Programme On the allegations regarding misappropriation of PM-CARES Fund , he said that this fund is purely made to ensure that PM takes care of its people during difficulties. “It is highly unfortunate that such allegations are being levelled.” "The way India has set an example in handling the coronavirus situation it will definitely force nations to take note of India. We expect more investments coming into the country," he said. The minister concluded the interaction by saying that businesses are definitely facing problems because of the lockdown, but the government is trying best to push the economy ahead. "The RBI has infused Rs 3.5 crore liquidity into the system. We will make all efforts to improve the economic situation of the country," he added.
