Lalu Prasad Yadav Backs Chirag Paswan As LJP Leader, Pitches Tejashwi-Chirag Alliance In Bihar

Favouring an alliance between the LJP leader and his party, Rashtriya Janata Dal President Lalu Prasad Yadav said "I want them to be together, people have rallied around him."

New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal President Lalu Prasad Yadav has expressed his wish to see his son RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in an alliance with Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Chirag Paswan in Bihar.

Backing LJP leader Chirag Paswan, who has been deserted by five MPs of his party led by his uncle Pashupati Kuma Paras, Lalu Yadav said that the young parliamentarian has emerged as leader despite what has happened in the LJP Party in the past.

Favouring an alliance between the LJP leader and his party, Lalu Prasad Yadav said "I want them to be together, people have rallied around him."

It might be recalled that RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had earlier reached out to Paswan and backed him as LJP chief. He even announced to celebrate Dalit messiah, Ram Vilas Paswan Ji's birth anniversary to commemorate his contribution to the state.

Earlier today, RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav met Loktantrik Janata Dal leader Sharad Yadav, along with his daughter Misa Bharti in New Delhi. The leaders held talks for over an hour and discussed people-related issues that are allegedly being neglected in Parliament.

On Monday, Lalu Prasad Yadav met Samajwadi Party MP Mulayam Singh Yadav and and his son Akhilesh Yadav at his residence in Delhi. RJD president called his visit to Mulayam Singh Yadav a "courtesy call" to enquire about the health of the ailing former Uttar Pradesh chief minister.
