Kejriwal Says Will Visit Ram Temple In Ayodhya With Family After Jan 22
His confirmation came hours after Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said he had “no knowledge” on whether CM Kejriwal would attend the consecration ceremony on January 22.
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said he will visit Ayodhya after the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple and pay obeisance to Lord Ram, news agency PTI reported. Speaking to the media, he said he will visit the temple town with his family after January 22.
“I got a letter that said only one person was allowed for the ceremony due to security reasons. They said a team will come to give a personal invitation but no one came. I want to visit for a darshan of Ram Lalla along with my wife and children. My parents are also longing for a darshan of Ram Lalla. I will go after the January 22 ceremony along with my wife, children and parents,” PTI quoted the Delhi chief minister as saying.
His confirmation came hours after Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said he had “no knowledge” on whether CM Kejriwal would attend the consecration ceremony on January 22.
"I believe it is important to go to (Ayodhya) but going when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going there is not necessary," PTI quoted the AAP leader as saying.
"The connection is with Lord Ram. You will find him on January 22 and even on January 23 or 24. I feel that if you have devotion, you will find him if you pray while sitting in office," Bharadwaj added.
Will Act As Per Law: Kejriwal On ED Summons
CM Kejriwal, who skipped the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons over the Delhi liquor policy case thrice, said he will act according to law, PTI reported. He made the remarks at an event while interacting with elderly pilgrims leaving for Dwarkadheesh in Gujarat.
Earlier in the day, Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj had also said the AAP convenor would act according to law and the advice of the legal counsel.
Notably, Kejriwal was asked to appear on November 2 and December 21 last year, but he skipped the ED summons.
