Karnataka Braces For Rain & Strong Winds; Bengaluru To See Showers, Forecasts IMD
According to IMD, rainfall occurred at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka, while dry weather prevailed in Coastal and North Interior Karnataka.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms for Bengaluru over the next few days. The IMD also predicted widespread light to moderate with isolated heavy rain over the districts of Coastal Karnataka, Belagavi, Dharwad, Haveri, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Davangere and Kodagu districts. On Tuesday, Karnataka saw isolated rainfall in South Interior Karnataka, while dry conditions prevailed elsewhere.
Karnataka Weather Conditions
On Tuesday, the maximum temperatures varied across the state with Coastal Karnataka recording temperatures between 34-35°C, while North Interior Karnataka saw a range of 33-38°C, with Kalaburgi and Vijayapura touching 39°C, as per IMD bulletin.
In South Interior Karnataka, Bengaluru, Hassan, Mysuru, Chikkamagaluru, and Mandya recorded temperatures between 31-33°C, whereas Davanagere and Chitradurga saw around 37°C. Bengaluru's temperatures were reported to be 2.4°C below normal, with Mandya and Koppal also experiencing cooler-than-average conditions.
Weather Forecast
The IMD has issued warnings for widespread thunderstorms, heavy rain and gusty winds across Karnataka. Coastal Karnataka is expected to witness light to moderate rain with isolated heavy showers and wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph. North Interior Karnataka, including Belagavi, Dharwad, Haveri, Koppal, Bagalkote, Vijayapura, Kalaburgi, Bidar, and Gadag, is likely to experience hailstorms and strong winds of 50-60 kmph.
South Interior Karnataka, including Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Davangere, and Kodagu, is predicted to receive heavy rain and thunderstorms, with wind speeds of 40-50 kmph. The districts of Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, and Ramanagara may also experience moderate rainfall and strong winds.
For Bengaluru, the IMD forecasts a partly cloudy sky with maximum and minimum temperatures around 33°C and 20°C, respectively. While the rainfall will provide temporary relief from rising summer temperatures, thunderstorms and strong winds may disrupt daily life. Residents are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
