'They Called Me H****khor': Kangana Ranaut On BMC's Bulldozer Action Against Her In 2020

Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut slammed director Hansal Mehta for claiming that her house was not vandalised nor was her freedom of speech curbed during the 2020 bulldozer action against her.

Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday fired back at filmmaker Hansal Mehta when he said her house was not vandalised or her freedom of speech was not targeted for her alleged building regulation violations in 2020. "Was her house vandalised? Did goons enter her premises? Did they do this to challenge her freedom of expression or for alleged FSI violations? Please enlighten me. Maybe I don’t know the facts," he replied to an X user.

To this, BJP MP Kangana Ranaut said that she was abused and her entire house was demolished. "They called me names like h****khor, threatened me, served a notice late in the night to my watchman and next morning before courts could open bulldozers demolished the entire house. High court called the demolition completely illegal. They laughed at it and raised a toast to my pain and public humiliation [sic]," she posted on X.

They Called Me H****khor': Kangana Ranaut On BMC's Bulldozer Action Against Her In 2020

"It seems your insecurity and mediocrity has not only made you bitter and stupid but it had blinded you as well, it’s not some third class series or atrocious films that you make, don’t try to sell your dumb lies and agendas here in the matters related to my ordeals, stay out of it [sic]," she slammed Mehta.

What Was The 2020 Bulldozer Action Against Kangana Ranaut?

On September 9, 2020, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) carried out a demolition at Bollywood actor (now BJP MP) Kangana Ranaut's office in Mumbai’s Pali Hill. The civic body said the action was against illegal alterations in the property. However, Ranaut alleged it was a politically motivated vendetta under the Uddhav Thackeray regime, following her outspoken criticism of the Maharashtra government and Bollywood's alleged "movie mafia" culture.

The demolition began while Ranaut was en route to Mumbai from her hometown in Himachal Pradesh. A digger (bulldozer) and a large team of BMC officials dismantled portions of her office, leading to widespread outrage.

Ranaut had then compared the incident to the plight of Kashmiri Pandits in 1989-90 and labelled it an attack on democracy. She also accused Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray of using state machinery for personal revenge.

The Bombay High Court intervened within hours, halting the demolition.
