JK: Militants hurl grenade at army camp in Kulgam , sniffer dog dead

JK: The attack has left army’s sniffer dog dead.

New Delhi: Militants on Friday afternoon hurled a grenade at an army camp in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. A unit 34 Rashtriya Rifles  was camping in Nihama village in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, when a grenade was lobbed at the camp. The attack has left army’s sniffer dog dead. Soon after the attack, reports said that army men smashed mirrors of several vehicles and shops and thrashed the passersby. Earlier in the day in a separate incident, Police foiled rifle snatching bid in Kulgam, when two militants tried to approach towards Station Grid Wanpoh area.The alert sentry fired some gunshots in air and meantime militants escaped from the spot. SSP Kulgam Harmeet Singh confirmed the incident that alert sentry fired some gunshots in air after Militants had come with intention to snatch rifle. Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
