J&K: Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visits martyr Aurangzeb's residence
The visit by Defence Minister comes a day after Bharatiya Janta Party pulled out of Jammu and Kashmir’s PDP government, resulting in resignation of CM Mehbooba Mufti and implementation of governor rule in the state.
Srinagar: Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday visited the family of martyred Indian rifleman Aurangzeb in Poonch, who was abducted and thereafter killed by terrorists in Pulwama district.
The visit by Defence Minister comes a day after Bharatiya Janta Party pulled out of Jammu and Kashmir’s PDP government, resulting in resignation of CM Mehbooba Mufti and implementation of governor rule in the state.
Where on one hand BJP cited various failures of PDP and Mufti as a reason for them to pull out of the alliance, stating that “Government failed to combat the issue of terrorism and stone pelting,” The visit by Sitharaman has sent out a strong message.
The government had also accused of Mufti of having a soft stand on various issues in the state.
Speaking to media after meeting martyr Aurangzeb’s family, defence minister said “One message I can take back from here is the family stands out an inspiration to us”.
