J&K: Two Local Hybrid Militants Of Proscribed Terror Outfit LeT-TRF Arrested By Srinagar Police

The arrest of two hybrid militants in Srinagar is deemed as a big success for the force while police personnel have also recovered incriminating materials.

Incriminating materials including 15 pistols, 30 magazines, 300 rounds and a silencer were recovered.

New Delhi: Srinagar Police arrested two local hybrid militants of proscribed terror outfit The Resistance Front (TRF)/Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir informed on Monday. According to the Inspector General of Police, the arrest was done following a raid based on technical inputs. He hailed the operation as a big success for the force as the personnel also recovered incriminating materials, arms, and ammunition including 15 pistols, 30 magazines, 300 rounds, and one silencer.

'Hybrid' militants are those who are not listed as ultras but persons radicalised enough to carry out a terror strike and then slip back into the routine life.

"Based on technical inputs an operation was launched and a house was raided in which we arrested 2 hybrid terrorists. 15 pistols, 30 magazines, 300 rounds, and 1 silencer recovered. They were supposed to hand over these arms and ammunition to hybrid terrorists in Srinagar," Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said, as quoted by ANI.

TRF or The Resistance Front is an offshoot of the LeT.
