3 Migrant Labourers Shot At In Jammu-Kashmir's Shopian, Rushed To Hospital

Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army cordoned off the area in Shopian where three non-locals were shot at.

Three non-local labourers were shot at by unidentified assailants in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on Thursday and rushed to hospital, police informed. Police and Army cordoned off the area in Gagran, Shopian after gunshots were heard in the area. "Terrorists fired upon three outside labourers in Shopian. Injured persons are Anmol Kumar, Pintu Kumar Thakur and Heralal Yadav, all residents of Distt Supaul, Bihar, being shifted to hospital. Cordon being launched," Kashmir Zone Police informed in a tweet.

Visuals from the spot where the shooting incident occurred as well as the hospital where the injured persons were taken to surfaced.

 "My brother was shot at. We are from Bihar," a relative of one of the injured non-local workers told PTI. He informed that he and his brother work as labourers in the union territory.

In May, a civilian from Udhampur succumbed to his injuries after terrorists opened fire at him in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag. According to the police, the deceased was identified as Deepu from Udhampur working at an amusement park near Janglaat Mandi, ANI reported.

In February, terrorists killed a Kashmiri Pandit man in Pulwama. The victim identified as Sanjay Sharma was working as an armed guard in his village. Terrorists fired at him in the morning hours. He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. In this case, the terrorists, identified as Aqib Mushtaq Bhat of Malangpora and Aijaz Ahmad Bhat of Syedabad Pastuna, were neutralised by security forces within 48 hours.

Aqib Bhat was said to be associated with the proscribed terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen but had begun working with The Resistance Front (TRF). Aijaz Ahmad Bhat was associated with the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed and also working in coordination with TRF.
