Jacqueline Fernandez Moves Court To Restrain Conman Sukesh From Issuing Statements About Her

Jacqueline, in her petition, said Sukesh Chandrasekhar constantly engages in “unsolicited dissemination of troubled letters” to different media platforms.

New Delhi: Actor Jacqueline Fernandez approached a Delhi court on Wednesday seeking directions to immediately restrain alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar from issuing any statements related to her. The Bollywood actor moved the Patiala Court seeking directions to the superintendent of Mandoli prison and Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) to not allow Chandrasekhar to issue any kind of letter, message or statement, directly or indirectly related to her.

Jacqueline, in her petition, said Chandrasekhar constantly engages in “unsolicited dissemination of troubled letters” to different media platforms. Claiming threat to her life, she further said that these statements once published create a distressing environment for her. Her plea mentioned that these statements amplify harassment and affects her safety and well-being.

It is to be noted that Jacqueline Fernandez is a protected witness in a case pertaining to Rs 200 crore money laundering and extortion linked to alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The case is being investigated by the Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police.

The actor in her plea further mentioned that during the hearing on the case on July 18, she received “objectionable” voice note and message from Chandrasekhar.  She added that she had lodged complaints with the police and jail authority but no action has been taken.

The EOW supported her plea and said it was a matter of “grave concern” that an important witness in the case was being harassed and threatened by the accused and that it could affect the trial.

The petition sought directions to the jail authorities to stop Chandrasekhar from sending any further letters or issue statement related to her. An action taken report should also be sought, the plea said.

The court listed the matter for hearing on January 17.

Earlier on Tuesday, the actor approached the Delhi High Court seeking quashing of the FIR against her in the Enforcement Directorate’s Rs 200 crore money laundering case.
