J&K's State Investigation Agency Raids 5 Locations In Delhi In Connection With Terror Funding Case

The investigation committee is said to have conducted the raids based on a tip-off regarding the whereabouts of Over the Ground Workers (OGWs) of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).

New Delhi: A search was carried out at multiple locations in Delhi, neighbouring Haryana and Kashmir by the Jammu and Kashmir’s State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Sunday morning in connection with a terror funding case, officials said.

According to a report by news agency ANI, separate SIA teams, constituted to investigate cases related to terrorism and secessionism, carried out the search operation in five locations in the national capital, one in Haryana’s Faridabad and one in the Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir.

The places raided by the SIA are owned by a suspected accused, who is allegedly involved in terrorist activities, or hawala and funding of terrorists. However, the identity of the person hasn’t been revealed yet.

The investigation committee is said to have conducted the raids based on a tip-off regarding the whereabouts of Over the Ground Workers (OGWs) of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). The raids came after corroborative intelligence inputs on the movement of Over the Ground Workers in Delhi.

It is to be noted that a total of 10 OGWs were arrested by the state investigation agency in February this year while conducting raids in areas of South and Central Kashmir.

The arrested accused were allegedly recruiting school and college-going students and a few of them were students themselves.

They had been under surveillance for quite some time and were found to have been in close contact with the regular militants of the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad.
