New Delhi: Terrorists opened fire on a Kashmiri Pandit in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening.

Bal Krishan alias Sonu, a Kashmiri Pandit, was fired upon at Chotigam in Shopian district, PTI reported. He has been admitted at the district hospital in Shopian.

As soon as the information was received, the security forces reached the spot and started a combing operation.

Sonu, a medical store operator by profession, did not leave the valley even during the displacement of Pandits from Kashmir. Balji was living in Kashmir for the last 30 years.

This was the third attack carried out by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The earlier two attacks left one CRPF personnel dead and three persons, including two workers from Bihar, injured. Two other migrant workers were also targeted on Sunday.

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha condemned the terror attack on civilians and CRPF personnel.

"Strongly condemn dastardly terror attack on civilians & CRPF personnel. My deepest condolences to family of martyred HC Vishal Kumar & prayers for early recovery of injured. Our security forces will give a befitting reply to perpetrators of despicable attacks," Manoj Sinha tweeted.

Two CRPF personnel were injured when terrorists opened fire on security forces at Maisuma. They were rushed to SMHS hospital where one of them, head constable Vishal Kumar, succumbed to injuries.
