“The pat-down search conducted by the security personnel at the airport is re-introduced. Though wearing masks at the airport or aircraft should still be continued,” the Airports Authority of India said in a series of tweets.
This move assumes significance as the scheduled international passenger flights have been suspended in India since March 23, 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The special passenger flights have, however, been operating between India and around 45 countries since July 2020 under air bubble arrangements.
Under an air bubble arrangement between two countries, the international passenger flights can be operated by their respective carriers into each other’s territories subject to certain conditions.
