Delhi-Bound Indigo Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Patna After Technical Snag

The IndiGo flight - 6E 2433 bound for Delhi made an emergency landing at Patna airport at 9:11 AM after reporting an inoperative engine.

A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight 6E 2433 made an emergency landing on Friday three minutes after its departure from the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna, Bihar. This was minutes after it reported an inoperative engine after departure. According to ANI, the flight landed safely back at the Patna airport at 9:11 am. The director of the Patna airport said that all operations at the airport are running as per normal.

"Indigo flight 6E 2433 to Delhi, three minutes after departure from Patna airport reported one engine inoperative. The aircraft landed safely at 0911 hours. All operations are normal at the airport," the airport director said.

The news comes days after a Dehradun-bound IndiGo flight carrying 108 passengers made an emergency landing at IGI Airport, New Delhi, due to a technical snag. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. IndiGo officials denied reports of an engine failure as the cause of the incident.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, an Air India Express flight from Tiruchirappalli to Sharjah with 154 passengers on board faced technical difficulties shortly after take-off and was diverted to the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport here where it landed safely, airport sources said. As per a Hindustan Times report, the flight departed at around 10:45 am from Tiruchirapalli, however, later the airport authority declared a full emergency at the International Airport.

Similarly, earlier in July this year, Air India's Delhi-Paris flight returned to originating airport at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport shortly after take-off following the Delhi air traffic controllers informed the flight crew about suspected tyre debris sighted on the runway after its departure. The flight safely landed back in Delhi at 2.18 pm, an Air India spokesperson had said.
