IndiGo Transfers Heart From Vadodara To Mumbai In 2.5 Hours, Saves Patient’s Life
IndiGo Airlines CEO Ronojoy Dutta congratulated his team for the effort and said his airline appreciates the opportunity to have contributed to saving a life.
New Delhi: A team of the IndiGo Airlines safely transported a live heart from the operation theater of a hospital in Vadodara, Gujarat, to Mumbai’s Global Hospitals in less than two and a half hours and helped save a patient's life.
A fixed time of three hours was given for transporting this heart to the hospital in the financial capital. The IndiGo Airlines team was successful in transporting this donated heart last week.
IndiGo Airlines CEO Ronojoy Dutta congratulated his team for the effort and said his airline appreciates the opportunity to have contributed to saving a life.
“We are honoured to support the team of Global Hospitals in transferring the live organ (heart), on time to the recipient through safe and efficient logistics. Every life is precious, and IndiGo appreciates the opportunity to have contributed to saving one. I would also like to congratulate our airport staff at Vadodara and Mumbai and crew members who contributed to this effort,” Dutta said.
IndiGo Airlines team, which was entrusted with the responsibility of transporting this donated live heart from Vadodara to Mumbai in a fixed time of three hours, did a magnificent job as they reached the hospital in the financial capital in just two hours and 22 minutes.
The doctors at Global Hospitals located at Parel, Mumbai, extracted this donated heart and transferred it at the earliest to ensure that a patient’s precious life could be saved.
The Global Hospitals team also commended the IndiGo Airlines team for making this delicate transplant possible.
They thanked Manoj Dalvi, IndiGo’s Security Manager at the Mumbai Airport, and Ramchandra Dwivedi, IndiGo’s Security Manager at the Ahmedabad Airport, for their assistance in coordinating and assisting the transplant team.
“We take immense pride in partnering with IndiGo for safe, swift, and smooth transfers of this vital living organ to Mumbai. The IndiGo team always surprises us with their ever-ready attitude and preparedness to support us at any time of the day at such a short notice,” said Anoop Lawrence, Senior GM Operations, Global Hospitals.
It is worth noting that IndiGo had last month too successfully helped transport a pair of lungs from Pune to Hyderabad.
