New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued ‘red’ and ‘orange’ alerts in different states as heavy rains lashed various parts of the country on Thursday. Delhi reported waterlogging and traffic snarls after heavy rain in several parts of the national capital.

While Delhi reported waterlogging in nine locations, including Jai Vihar in Baprola, Azad Market, Sadh Nagar in Palam, Shahpur Jat, Nimri Colony in Ashok Vihar, the downpour in Maharashtra increased on Thursday as some areas received 40mm to 70mm rain in the last 12 hours.
