Every year, July 1 is celebrated as National Doctors’ Day by the Indian Medical Association (IMA). The day is observed to commemorate the birth and death anniversary of former Bengal’s Chief Minister Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy.

The day is dedicated to all the doctors and healthcare workers who have been serving the people by risking their lives. The COVID-19 pandemic has once again reminded us about the contributions and sacrifices made by doctors and healthcare workers around the globe.

Third Wave Not Far Away If We Lower Our Shields

While speaking to ABP News, Dr Monika Langeh of the Emergency Medicine said that the Spanish flu which broke in India few years ago, had four waves.

She also said that the second wave came and caused several deaths as few people became careless. She also alerted that as the lockdowns in several states have started ending gradually and people continue to remain careless, third wave might also hit the country.

Langeh also underlined the fact that people should get vaccinated at the earliest possible.
