India Ready To Engage In Diplomatic Talks As Dialogue Only Way To End Russia-Ukraine Conflict: India At UN
"We stand ready to continue to engage on these objectives in the Security Council, as well as with the parties (to the conflict), in the coming days," Ambassador Tirumurti said.
India's ambassador to the United Nations, TS Tirumurti, said that India is ready to engage in diplomatic talks to end the conflict in Russia-Ukraine, at an emergency meeting at the UN. The UN has raised "grave fears" for millions of people.
Meanwhile, the Indian ambassador said that PM Modi has "emphasized that there is no option but the path of dialogue and diplomacy" to end the conflict in Ukraine-Russia.

"We reiterate our call for an immediate cessation of hostilities across Ukraine. Our Prime Minister has reiterated this on several occasions and called for immediate ceasefire and path of dialogue and diplomacy," the ambassador added.
Tirumurti also said that India is constantly sending humanitarian supplies including medicines to Ukraine and will continue in this regard. "In line with the dire humanitarian situation unfolding in Ukraine, India is in the process of sending further supplies in the coming days. We have already sent over 90 tonnes of humanitarian supplies including medicines, relief aid," said India's Ambassador TS Tirumurti at the UN emergency meet.
Under-Secretary-General Rosemary DiCarlo said that while there were "grave fears about the fate of millions of residents" who were "facing intensifying attacks". However, she also gave some positive news about the Russia-Ukraine situation.
She said, "This week, there were positive signals reported regarding the ongoing direct talks between Ukrainian and Russian representatives. We welcome all such engagements."
