'Every Escalation Will Invite Decisive Response': India Warns Pakistan After Ceasefire
India-Pakistan Ceasefire: The India-Pakistan ceasefire is without any pre- or post- condition and the Indus Waters Treaty will continue to remain in Abeyance as of now.
India-Pakistan Ceasefire News: The Indian military on Saturday said that its forces will adhere to the ceasefire agreement but would be ready to hit back if there are any "misadventures" on the part of Pakistan. India issued the stern warning to Pakistan at a press conference attended by Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, Colonel Sophia Qureshi, and Commodore Raghu R Nair.
Col Qureshi said: "There has been an understanding that has been reached to stop all military activities at sea, on the air and on land. Indian army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Forces have been instructed to adhere to this understanding..." She also dispelled the Pakistani propaganda that Indian defence systems were damaged in the attack.
"Pakistan claimed that it damaged our S400 and Brahmos missile base with its JF 17, which is completely wrong. Secondly, it also ran a misinformation campaign that our airfields in Sirsa, Jammu, Pathankot, Bhatinda, Nalia and Bhuj were damaged, and its misinformation is also completely wrong. Thirdly, according to Pakistan's misinformation campaign, our ammunition depot in Chandigarh and Vyas was damaged, which is also completely wrong. Pakistan made false allegations that Indian Army damaged mosques. I want to make it very clear that India is a secular nation and our army is a very beautiful reflection of the constitutional value of India," Col Qureshi said.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh says, "There has been extensive damage to the crucial Pakistani air bases- Skardu, Jacobabad and Bholari. In addition, a loss of AD weapon system and radar made the defence of Pakistani airspace untenable..."
US Announces Ceasefire
Minutes after US President Donald Trump announced the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said both sides had agreed to stop all assaults and military action on land, air and sea with effect from 5 PM.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar posted on X, "India and Pakistan have today worked out an understanding on stoppage of firing and military action. India has consistently maintained a firm and uncompromising stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. It will continue to do so."
India has also said that any form of terror attack in future would mean Pakistan had waged war on the nation and would respond appropriately.
There is no pre- or post-condition of the ceasefire. The call to broker the ceasefire was initiated from Pakistan. The Indus Waters Treaty will remain in abeyance, MEA sources said.
