India Logs 5,874 New Covid Infections In 24 Hours, Active Cases Stand At 49,015

India on Sunday reported 5,874 new Covid-19 cases and 8,148 recoveries in the last 24 hours. The active caseload stands at 49,015.

India on Sunday reported 5,874 new Covid-19 cases and 8,148 recoveries in the last 24 hours. The active caseload now stands at 49,015. As per the official data of the Ministry of Health and Family Affairs, 16 new deaths were recorded during this time period while a total of nine deaths were reconciled. The data shows that 117 first doses of vaccination were given to adults whereas 57 were vaccinated for the second dose. 2,498 precaution doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate stands at 3.31 per cent while the weekly positivity rate is 4.25 per cent.

India on Saturday recorded 7,171 new cases in 24 hours. The active caseload on Saturday was at 51,314, as reported by the news agency ANI. The death toll increased to 5,31,508 with 40 deaths, which included 15 reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated. The total tally of Covid cases was recorded at 4.49 crore. The active cases now comprise 0.11 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.70 per cent, according to the health ministry website.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,43,56,693 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent.  According to the ministry's website, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far. The cases are seeing a continuous dip for the last some days. India recorded its last spile on April 26 when it logged 9,629 new Covid-19 cases.

Mumbai on Friday reported 135 new coronavirus infections and one pandemic-related death, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.

It took the case tally in India's financial capital to 11,62,592, and death toll to 19,764. A day before, the city had recorded 135 new cases and one death. India recorded 7,533 new coronavirus cases, raising the tally to 4.49 crore, while the active cases decreased to 53,852, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday.
