'India Is An Aspirational Society, Such A Society Is An Asset': PM Modi At Red Fort On India's 75 Years Of Independence

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the country recently experienced the re-emergence of a 'collective consciousness'.

Independence Day 2022: While addressing India on the occasion of the nation's 76th Independence Day, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, said the country recently experienced the re-emergence of a 'collective consciousness'. For the last three days, all the people in the nation united as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, he said at the Red Fort.

"When we attained freedom there were many sceptics who doubted our development trajectory. But, they did not know that there is something different about the people of this land. They did not know that this soil is special," Modi said, addressing the nation.

"India is an aspirational society and such a society is an asset. The people of India want positive changes and they want it at a quick pace. They also want to contribute towards it," Modi said.

Modi also talked about how people lit lamps to pay tribute to healthcare workers at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Prime Minister also lauded the development of indigenous Covid-19 vaccines in India.

Modi also said that 130 crore Indian citizens have experienced political stability after a long time. He said the government started out with the motto of "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas", and that Indian citizens have made it better with "Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas".

The Prime Minister said that India should take five oaths. He said a big resolution is that the entire country should be educated. He also said that there should be no slavery in India.

Modi also said that the country should be proud of India's heritage.

The fourth resolution he talked about was "Unity".

The Prime Minister said that the "responsibility of each citizen" is the fifth resolution.

Addressing the citizens of the country aged 20-25 years, Modi said they will be about 50 years of age by 2047, and that by then, India will be a developed country.
