IMD Weather Forecast For Diwali 2024: The Diwali festivities this week may get dampened in several parts of India, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting light rain and thundershowers in parts of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh over the week. The festivities kickstarted across the country on Tuesday with Dhanteras or Dhantrayodashi, with Diwali scheduled to be celebrated on October 31.
As per IMD's latest forecast, light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning, is very likely at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Lakshadweep, and Karnataka during October 31 and November 1.
IMD Forecast For Next 4 Days
October 29: As per the forecast, a thunderstorm accompanied by lightning is very likely at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh.
October 30: "Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning is very likely at isolated places over Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim," IMD said.
October 31: As per IMD, heavy rainfall (≥ 7 cm) is likely at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka. Moreover, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely at isolated places over Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala.
November 1: Heavy rainfall (≥ 7 cm) is also likely at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, IMD said. It added that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely at isolated places over Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala.
