MiG-21 crashes in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra, pilot dead
The aircraft had taken off from the Pathankot air base in Punjab.
Shimla: In a tragic incident, a MiG 21 fighter jet crashed in a village in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh today, police said. Reports say a pilot lost his life in the crash.
The fighter jet crashed in Mehra Palli village under the Jawali police station, Kangra Superintendent of Police (SP) Santosh Patial said.
The SP told PTI that he and other officials were on their way to the spot. The aircraft had taken off from the Pathankot air base in Punjab, officials said.
The incident comes only days after an IAF fighter jet crashed in Mundra district of Kutch in Gujarat. The IAF Jaguar belonged to Jamnagar airbase and crashed on the outskirts of Beraja village.
