'I Stand With Robert': Rahul Gandhi Defends Brother-In-Law, Calls ED Action 'Decade-Long Witch Hunt'

Rahul Gandhi defends Robert Vadra after ED files chargesheet in Gurugram land case, calling it a decade-long political witch hunt and expressing faith that the truth will ultimately prevail.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has come out strongly in defense of his brother-in-law, Robert Vadra, following fresh legal action by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). On Wednesday, Gandhi accused the Modi government of relentlessly targeting Vadra for the past decade, calling the latest chargesheet "a continuation of that witch hunt."

The ED on Tuesday filed a chargesheet against Vadra — a businessman and the husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra — in a money laundering case tied to a controversial land deal from 2008. The case involves a 3.53-acre plot in Shikohpur village, located in Gurugram, Haryana.

Taking to social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi expressed solidarity with his family and denounced the move as politically driven.

"My brother-in-law has been hounded by this government for the last ten years. This latest chargesheet is a continuation of that witch hunt," he wrote.

He went on to voice unwavering support for Vadra and his family, saying:

"I stand with Robert, Priyanka, and their children as they face yet another onslaught of malicious, politically motivated slander and harassment."

Despite the legal challenges, Gandhi expressed confidence in their strength and resilience, stating:

"I know that they are all brave enough to withstand any kind of persecution, and they will continue to do so with dignity. The truth will eventually prevail."

The comments come amid intensifying political tensions and ahead of a critical period for the opposition. For years, Vadra has been under scrutiny in multiple investigations, and the Congress party has often accused the BJP-led government of misusing investigative agencies to settle political scores.
