The intelligence agencies of India are suspecting that the information was reaching Pakistan and for which money was paid.

New Delhi: An Army clerk posted at Mhow cantonment area near Indore was honey-trapped allegedly by a Pakistani woman through social media and ended up sharing strategic information with her, agencies reported. The 28-year-old clerk was sharing secret information of strategic importance through social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram with a woman for a long time, PTI reported citing a senior police officer. The intelligence agencies of India are suspecting that the information was reaching Pakistan and for which money was paid. The police are thoroughly probing the social media account of the arrested clerk. An FIR in the case under relevant sections is registered in a police station in Bhopal and an investigation into the matter is underway, the official added. Earlier this year in January, Army intelligence had revealed that at least 50 Army soldiers were in touch with the woman who honey-trapped jawans by pretending as a nurse serving the Army on Facebook.  It was found that woman named Anika Chopra on social media who allegedly belonged to a secret agency in Pakistan was in contact with 50 soldiers
