Hathras Case: SIT Gets 10 More Days To Submit Its Report, Cong Accuses UP Govt Of Trying To 'Cover Up'
Forensic report has certified that there is no evidence of rape in the case of the 19-year-old Dalit victim in the Hathras case. It has been submitted with an affidavit by the Uttar Pradesh government in the Supreme Court.
Hathras Horror: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to probe the alleged gangrape and murder of a 19-year-old Dalit woman hailing from UP’s Hathras, has been given 10 more days of time to file its report. The seven days period given to SIT initially gets over today and it was likely to submit is report to the Chief Minister today.

It is to be noted that on the basis of its first report, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already suspended the Hathras Superintendent of Police, DSP and some other police officers. Their polygraph and narcoanalysis tests have been recommended.
The SIT team stayed for in the village for three days and recorded the statements of each member of the victim’s family.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on Saturday also recommended a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the case.
Forensic report says 'no rape' in Hathras case:
The Department of Forensic Medicine at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College of Aligarh Muslim University, has certified that there is no evidence of rape in the case of the 19-year-old Dalit victim in the Hathras case. The certificate has been submitted with an affidavit by the Uttar Pradesh government in the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
UP Govt seeks SC monitored CBI probe:
The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday told the Supreme Court that it wanted an apex court-monitored CBI inquiry into the Hathras episode, which the SC described as horrible .
Hearing another petition, the Supreme Court directed the UP government to inform it by October 8 about the steps taken to protect witnesses in the case.
Cong accuses UP govt of trying to 'cover up' Hathras case;
The Congress on Tuesday said that the affidavit filed by the Uttar Pradesh government in the apex court on the Hathras case was clearly a poor effort by the state administration to distract from the many glaring questions in the matter.
It also demanded a judicial inquiry into the case while accusing the state government of "trying to hush up the case".
The Congress cited portions of the affidavit saying these had been drawn from the American 'Black Lives Matter movement' and had been fabricated by the Uttar Pradesh government to discredit those seeking justice in the Hathras case.
