As per the India Today report, Singh in a press release has informed that the body has collected a lot of money for his fees. The release also stressed that SC-ST community is being "misused" to malign the upper caste society through this case. This case has particularly hurt the Rajput community. "In this case, it has been decided that AP Singh will plead the case for the accused party to bring out the truth," the letter further read. Advocating for two death row convicts, the lawyer fought the case of all the rapists in one of the most heinous rape cases in the country that shook the nation. In the Hathras gangrape case, the accused have acquired support from upper caste groups who are demanding an "unbiased" probe.
