Firing during Sapna Chaudhary's performance in Karnal; brother taken in custody

When Sapna was leaving the ring after her performance, a pandemonium broke loose among the fans and all of them rushed to meet the dancer.

New Delhi: A stampede like situation broke out while popular Haryana dancer Sapna Chaudhary was performing live at a Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE) fight organised in Haryana’s Karnal, in which Bollywood dancer Rakhi Sawant was also present. The chaos occurred after Sapna’s brother fired gun shots post her performance to disperse the crowd, following which he was taken into custody by the police for enquiry and his revolver was confiscated. Any official statement has not been issued by the police so far. When Sapna was leaving the ring after her performance, a pandemonium broke loose among the fans and all of them rushed to meet the dancer. As per reports, Sapna’s brother fired in air to disperse the crowd which led to a stampede like situation. On being notified about the firing, police reached the spot and took her brother into custody and also seized his revolver. As per reports, police released her brother after enquiry. The incident comes days after an aggressive disorder marred Sapna’s performance during Chhath in Bihar Thousands of people who had gathered to get a glimpse of the dancer, started throwing chairs at one another. A person also reportedly died in the mayhem, while many were injured.
