Following the forming of the legislature, farmers were protesting at the borders of Delhi at Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri.
11 rounds of formal talks between farmer representatives and the Centre attempted at convincing the farmers that the new laws were pro-farmer. The farmers on the other hand claimed that the legislation will leave the farmers at the mercy of corporations.
The farmers also are demanding the government to introduce a new law to guarantee Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops.
