Are Illegal Immigrants Your Cousins? Amit Shah Hits Out At Congress For Objecting NRC

Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah addressed a rally in Gurgaon and targeted Congress for its alleged stand on the deportation of the illegal immigrants across the country.

Gurugram: Days ahead of the much-awaited Haryana Assembly elections, Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah addressed a rally here and targeted Congress for its alleged stand on the deportation of the illegal immigrants across the country. While addressing the rally, Shah asked if the illegal immigrants living in India are cousins of the Congress leaders.  "Whenever we talk about deporting the illegal immigrants, Congress says why will you deport them? Where will they go? What will they eat? I ask them are they your cousins?" Shah asked. Further in his speech, Home Minister also reiterated that his government is committed to oust every single infiltrator from the country before 2024. "Let Rahul baba object, let Bhupinder ji object, I have come here to promise you that before 2024, every single infiltrator will be ousted from the country," he said. Pushing electorates to vote for the saffron party and bring it back to power in the state again and also hitting out at Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and former chief Rahul Gandhi, Shah asked if they will make Prime Minister hands stronger. "Will you make PM Modi's hands stronger? Will you make Manohar Lal ji CM again? Will you press the button with the lotus symbol? Press the lotus button so hard that it is pressed in Gurugram but the current is felt in Italy." Shah also attacked the Congress party over the land deals involving Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra and alleged that past Congress governments were guided by "the 3 Ds" - "Darbari, Damad and Damad ke dalal". Shah was referring to the culture of courtiers or "Darbaris" in the party and to Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra and his land deals, while mentioning "Damad and Damad ke dalal". "Congress ki sarkaar teen 'D' ke siddhant par chalti thi. Pehla 'D' darbariyon ki sarkar, doosra 'D' damaad ki sarkar aur teesra 'D' damaad ke dalalon ki sarkaar," said Shah at an election rally in Panipat in Haryana earlier in the day. Launching a scathing attack on former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Shah accused him of "surrendering the lands of Haryana farmers at the Dilli Durbar" in a veiled attack on the Gandhi family. Holding forth from the BJP dais in his unique oratory style, Shah questioned, "Do you want a government in Haryana that will bid for the son-in-law of the Gandhi family who will indulge in corruption in Haryana or a government that is corruption-free?" Reminding the electorate of the Congress rule at the Centre, Shah said terrorists had a free run during that tenure. "When Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister, Pakistan sent terrorists who used to come and kill our soldiers. But 'mauni baba' (mute man) couldn't utter a word of protest," he said, taking a dig at the former Prime Minister. Making a comparison between the amount of central assistance for Haryana during the UPA and NDA regimes, Shah made a case for the BJP in the state that was rocked by several allegations of corruption during the rule of Hooda.
