ABP News Opinion Poll: BJP Likely To Sweep Haryana Assembly Elections With 83 Seats

In yet another massive setback for the Congress-led UPA, the ABP News-C Voter Opinion Poll shows that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is most likely to return to power with a massive mandate in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections.

New Delhi: In yet another massive setback for the Congress-led UPA, the ABP News-C Voter Opinion Poll shows that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is most likely to return to power with a massive mandate in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. According to the survey, BJP is expected to almost sweep the Haryana Polls with bagging as many as 83 out the total 90 assembly seats. Congress, on the other hand, is likely to get mere 3 seats in the state and Other parties will bag 4 seats. In terms of vote share, BJP is expected to get 48 per cent votes whereas the Congress is likely to bag 21 per cent votes. Survey predicts that Other parties in the state would bag 31 per cent vote share. Looking at the most favourite Chief Ministerial candidate, the current CM Manohar Lal Khattar is leading the race with 40 per cent of the voters want him to resume the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) whereas 20 per cent of the people want Bhupinder Singh Hooda as the new CM of state. Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala is also favoured as the CM face by 14 per cent of the people. Earlier this week, BJP released its election manifesto for the October 21 Haryana assembly polls and said this was a “commitment paper” that represented all sections of society. The BJP, which described its poll manifesto as a 'Sankalp Patra', promised to give collateral free loan of up to Rs 3 lakh to people belonging to the scheduled caste community, if voted to power again.  It also pledged to give interest free crop loan of up to Rs 3 lakh to farmers. As many 1,168 candidates are vying for 90 seats. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), there are nearly 1.83 crore voters in the state including 1.07 lakh service voters are eligible to exercise their right to franchise. Though the main contestt is between the BJP and Congress on several seats in the state JJP, which broke away from the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), is also being closely watched. Other parties in the running are the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), AAP and Swaraj India party. With the promise of loan waiver to farmers and job reservations to women, the Congress too released its manifesto for the Haryana elections last week. It promised 33 per cent job quota for women in the government sector, cash incentives to educated jobless youth apart from farm loan waiver within 24 hours of coming to power. Besides this, the party promised to bring in a strong legislation to check the menace of mob lynchings, to drastically cut electricity bills and to counter pollution caused by stubble burning by providing machines to remove it from the roots.
