Gurnam Singh not given proper treatment, allege family members of martyred BSF jawan

New Delhi: The family members of BSF jawan Gurnam Singh, who passed away last night after getting injured in cross-border firing in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) by Pakistan, have alleged that he was not given proper treatment.  Air ambulance facility for bringing him to AIIMS (New Delhi) was not provided, alleged the relatives. In Jammu, people paid tribute to Gurnam Singh. He died after succumbing to his injuries. "Bullet had hit Gurnam Singh's head, and he was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), senior doctors were observing", said CMO Rajinder Thappa, reported ANI. Gurnam breathed his last at 11:30 pm last night. Gurnam Singh not given proper treatment, allege family members of martyred BSF jawan As per reports, jawan's parents wanted him to be shifted to AIIMS for better treatment. "We were about to do that yesterday,but unfortunately he passed away", CMO added. It is pertinent to mention here that after the Uri attack on 18 September 2016 in the J&K, there has been an abrupt rise in the incidence of ceasefire violations by Pakistan. What Gurnam Singh said to his mother "Gurnam once said 'Mumma, don't cry if I sacrifice my life for the nation', I said I wont", said Jaswant Kaur, mother of martyred BSF jawan.
