Gunbattle breaks out in Pulwama: 3 LeT terrorists killed, 1 Army official injured

Srinagar: In a gunbattle that broke in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday night, three LeT terrorists were gunned down. The firing from the other end also injured one Army official. Following the incident, the stone pelters took to streets and launched attacks on the Army jeeps. As per a police official, security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in Kakapora area of Pulwama around 6 pm following information about presence of militants there, a police official said. As the security forces were conducting the searches, they were fired upon by some hiding militants, the official added. The security forces retaliated, triggering a gunbattle which was going on till last reports came in, the official said. There were no reports of any casualties on either side so far. The incidents of stone-pelting are on a rise in Jammu and Kashmir from past many months. As per the intelligence sources, these stone-pelters are funded by Pakistan Army who aim at creating unrest and hampering the harmony in valley.
