Gujarat Assembly Elections: Congress To Take Out ‘Parivartan Sankalp' Rallies From Oct 31

Gujarat Congress chief spokesperson Manish Doshi said through 'Parivartan Sankalp Yatra', the Congress aims to create an atmosphere for change in Gujarat.

New Delhi: Ahead of the Gujarat assembly elections, Congress is set to conduct mass rallies in the poll-bound state from October 31.

Several party leaders will be taking out the ‘Parivartan Sankalp' yatras in various places of the state. Congress leader and Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot will be taking out the rally in Palanpur, his Chhattisgarh counterpart Bhupesh Baghel in Fagvel, Digvijaya Singh in Nakhatrana, Kamal Nath in Somnath and Mukul Wasnik in Jambusar.

Gujarat Congress chief spokesperson Manish Doshi said through the 'Parivartan Sankalp Yatra', the Congress aims to create an atmosphere for change in Gujarat, where the Bharatiya Janata Party has been in power for close to three decades.

"Each of these yatras will last nearly a week and cover 175 out of the state's 182 Assembly seats. More details of the programme will be revealed on October 29,” news agency PTI quoted Doshi as saying.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has entered the fray and is expected to give a tough fight to opposition BJP and Congress, will begin its campaign in the poll-bound state from October 28.

According to reports, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann will take part in six rallies over three days starting Friday.

On the first day of the rally, the party will address people in Panchmahal district before reaching Kankrej constituency in Banaskantha.

As per reports, the rallies will cover all 182 assembly seats across the state and party state chief Gopal Italia and AAP leader Isudan Gadhvi will be taking out rallies in different parts of the state.

It is to be noted that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is yet to announce the election dates for Gujarat. Earlier this month, EC declared Himachal Pradesh will go to polls on November 12 and the results will be announced on December 8.
