The report quoting sources said that GGI 2023 was being planned to be released on December 23, but the government decided not to go ahead with the release.
The data collected from states pertained to 2023 and a release at the end of 2024 would mean that the data would be old or outdated, as per sources. The GGI exercise would be carried out again and new data collected, it is learnt.
The Index covers ten sectors and 58 indicators, including Agriculture, Commerce, Human Resource Development, Public Health, Public Infrastructure, Economic Governance and Environment, among others.
