Fresh twist in Sheena Bora murder case: Driver Shyamvar Rai made approver

New Delhi: Country’s most sensational murder mystery Sheena Bora murder case has now taken a huge turn. In a big step towards untangling the murder mystery, the Mumbai court has today made the prime accused Shyamvar Rai, who is also former driver of Indrani, an approver in the case. Shyamvar Rai had moved an application in the court last month by writing a two-page letter seeking to become an approver and sought pardon. A special CBI court accepted Shyamvar Rai’s plea on Monday and excused him after he promised the court to share all the details in regards to the case. Recording his statement before the court, Shyamvar Rai had said he was under "no pressure, threat or coercion to reveal the facts in the case and was repentant about his act”. According to Khar police, Indrani Mukerjea along with her ex-husband Khanna and driver Rai had allegedly strangulated Sheena Bora, and later disposed off her body in a thickly forested area in Gagode village of Raigad district on April 24, 2012. The murder came to light after Rai’s arrest by the Khar police in an Arms Act case. Indrani was held on August 25 last year. Peter Mukerjea was also taken into judicial custody a few months later by CBI.
