Encounter breaks out in Pulwama; 4 JeM terrorists gunned down, AK series rifles recovered
On Thursday, the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Panjran area of Pulwama, following information about presence of the militants there.
Srinagar: An encounter broke out between the security forces and terrorists in Lassipora of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday morning. As per the police, 4 terrorists were killed during the exchange of fire. As per reports, the officials have also recovered 3 AK series rifles from the terrorists.
The terrorists were killed at Panjran in south Kashmir, a police official said. He said the operation, which began Thursday evening, was over. As per reports, the militants belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit, who were the mastermind of the attack on Indian Army convoy in Pulwama, which claimed the lives of 40 soldiers in February.

A gunfight broke out as the militants opened fire at the security forces, which retaliated, the official said.
