“Congratulations to @DRDO_India for the maiden successful flight test of Agni P, an advanced variant of Agni class of missiles. I compliment the efforts of the team behind this mission,” he tweeted.

He said the Agni P missile would further strengthen India’s credible deterrence capabilities.

“Many advance technologies including Composites, Propulsion Systems, innovative Guidance and Control mechanisms and state-of-the-art navigation systems have been introduced. The Agni P missile would further strengthen India's Credible Deterrence capabilities,” he tweeted.

The DRDO had earlier on June 25 successfully test-fired enhanced range versions of indigenously developed 122mm Caliber Rocket from a Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) at the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha.

Earlier on June 24 and 25, the DRDO had test-fired an extended-range version of indigenously developed Pinaka rocket from a Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur off Odisha coast.
