'Person Who Threatened Sanjay Raut Was Drunk': Maha Dy CM Fadnavis Assured Of 'Thorough Investigation'

Sanjay Raut Threat Case: Maharashtra Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis said that the person who threatened the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader had been identified, that he admitted to threatening the leader while drunk.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Saturday that the person who threatened the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut had been identified, that he admitted to threatening the leader while drunk, and that he has no connection to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Fadnavis further said that a thorough investigation would be done into this matter, and action will be taken.

"The person threatening Sanjay Raut has been identified, and primary information has been received that he threatened Sanjay Raut in a drunken state, a thorough investigation will be done in this matter, and action will be taken:" Fadnavis was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Raut received a phone call on Friday night from an unknown person who threatened to kill him. According to Raut's statement to the media and police, the caller said, "You come to Delhi. You will be shot with an AK-47."

Fadnavis responded to the Opposition's resignation demand by saying, "I can understand some leaders' discomfort since I took charge as Home Minister." He also stated that the state government will be governed by the rule of law.

"I will continue as Maharashtra's Home Minister." "I was in charge of this portfolio for five years, from 2014 to 2019," Fadnavis claimed. "Anyone who engages in illegal acts or wrongdoing will have to face action as per the law."

Opposition leaders called the threat a serious law-and-order issue and questioned the Maharashtra government's functioning. Previously, the Opposition criticised the Shinde-Fadnavis government for calling the government "impotent" and "powerless" for failing to address "hate speeches" at Sakal Hindu Samaj rallies. Nana Patole, the Congress chief, had also demanded the resignations of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputy, Devendra Fadnavis.

Earlier, NCP MP Supriya Sule expressed her shock at the death threat received by Raut.
