Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Granted Parole To Meet Ailing Mother
Ram Rahim Singh had applied for emergency parole, presenting some documents before the jail authorities regarding his mother's illness.
Rohtak: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was on Friday granted parole to meet his ailing mother after he applied for the same 4 days ago.
Ram Rahim, along with two female followers, is serving a 20-year jail sentence over rape charges. The Dera Sacha Sauda chief is lodged in Rohtak's Sunaria jail in Haryana.

Ram Rahim Singh had presented some documents before the jail authorities regarding his mother's illness. Earlier, jail officials said that the Dera chief had sought 21-day parole to meet his ailing mother Naseeb Kaur.
Sunaria Jail Superintendent Sunil Sangwan had told news agency PTI: "After the filing of the emergency parole application, we had written a letter to the Haryana Police in this regard and sought NOC from them."
The jail authorities had sent documents related to the illness of Ram Rahim's mother to the concerned authorities for verification. In October 2020, the Dera chief was given parole for one day to visit his mother who was admitted to a Gurugram hospital.
Details regarding the duration of the parole granted are yet to be revealed.
Last week, Gurmeet Ram Rahim was taken to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak after his blood pressure dipped in jail. He was discharged the next day when all his health parameters were found to be normal.
