Demonetisation issue rocks parliament, 'don't doubt our integrity' says HM Rajnath
New Delhi: Another rough day was observed in both upper and lower houses of parliament over demonetisation issue, where the opposition was seen raising slogans while disrupting the parliament proceedings.
- Opposition stood at Gandhi statue outside the parliament building and raised slogans against the government over demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes
- Even Home Minister Rajnath Singh broke his silence in the lower house where he said, “If you have a complaint on implementation then we are ready to debate,don't doubt our integrity”
- Senior Congress leader Malikarjun Kharge also took a jibe at the Government and pointed out at numbers of problems common man had to face because of currency ban saying, “ More than 70 people have died, and more than 1000 people have been injured”
- While commenting on shutdown by Opposition and protests both inside and outside parliament, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said, “In meeting of 18 opposition parties we decided to hold janakroshdiwas and not Bharat Bandh. PM is responsible for Bharat Bandh”
- Senior Bhartiya Janta Party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi lashed out at opposition in RS and said, “It is not a protest against demonetisation, but a protest against a check on Black money”
