Tejasvi Surya Accuses DMK Of Political Drama Over Delimitation: 'See It Through Prism Of 2026 TN Polls'
BJP MP Tejasvi Surya asserted that the central government and Home Minister Amit Shah have repeatedly assured the southern states that no region would be adversely affected by delimitation process.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya criticised the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), accusing the party of using the issue of delimitation and the alleged imposition of Hindi as a distraction ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections. Surya stated that the DMK's stance on these matters is aimed at diverting public attention from "rampant corruption and lack of development" under its rule.
Speaking to ANI, Tejasvi Surya said, "The drama being enacted by the DMK, whether on the issue of delimitation or imposition of Hindi, should be seen through the prism of the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections. It is being done to divert the attention of the people of Tamil Nadu from the real issues of lack of development and rampant corruption under the DMK rule."
He asserted that the central government and Home Minister Amit Shah have repeatedly assured the southern states that no region would be adversely affected by the delimitation process.
"Despite these assurances, the DMK is deliberately creating fear among the people for political gains. The people of Tamil Nadu will see through this and reject their agenda in 2026," Surya remarked.

Parliament Disrupted Over Delimitation Protest
Surya's comments come amid disruptions in the Lok Sabha, where opposition MPs, particularly DMK members, protested against the proposed delimitation changes. The House witnessed repeated adjournments as several MPs wore white T-shirts emblazoned with slogans reading, "#FairDelimitation Tamil Nadu will fight, Tamil Nadu will win."
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla strongly objected to the act, calling it a violation of parliamentary decorum. "The House functions based on rules and procedures. Members must uphold the dignity and honor of the House. Such behavior is unacceptable," he said when the session began at 11 AM.
Birla directed the protesting MPs to leave the chamber and return in proper attire. Following this, the Lok Sabha was adjourned until 2 PM as tensions remained high.
