Delhi Weather: Moderate To Heavy Rainfall For Next 2 Days. IMD Issues Yellow & Orange Alert

For weather alerts, the IMD employs four colour codes: green (no action required), yellow (watch and remain informed), orange (be prepared), and red (take action).

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Tuesday and an orange alert for Wednesday, indicating that moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers are expected, news agency PTI reported.

On Monday, the national capital witnessed sultry weather, with the highest temperature reaching 36.8 degrees Celsius, which is common for this time of year.

The minimum temperature was 27.4 degrees Celsius, which is average for this time of year, while humidity levels ranged between 62% and 89%.

The outlook for Tuesday is for mostly overcast skies with the risk of light to moderate rain or thundershowers. The highest and lowest temperatures are forecast to be about 36 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

On Sunday, parts of Delhi saw moderate rain, and the highest temperature in the city was 35.7 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal, while the lowest temperature was 26.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees below average.

Meanwhile, the weather department also predicts "Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Gujarat State, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe during next 5 days."
