Tragic! Delhi Traffic Police ACP Sanket Kaushik Killed By Speeding Vehicle While On Duty; Probe On

The Assistant Police Commissioner of the Delhi Traffic Police Sanket Kaushik lost his life while on duty, when he was managing traffic at the flyover.

New Delhi: An over-speeding vehicle hit Delhi's traffic police ACP on Saturday night at the national capital's Rajokri flyover resulting in the death of the cop. The Assistant Police Commissioner of the Delhi Traffic Police Sanket Kaushik lost his life while on duty, when he was managing traffic at the flyover. A speeding mini-truck hit Kaushik from behind while he was on his way to a picket post as per reports. The incident happened around 9.30 pm when a Tata 407 hit the 55-year-old officer. He was immediately rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Trauma Centre, where he was declared brought dead. Police officials have said that an investigation will be initiated in this regard. ACP Sanket Kaushik, 58, was from Ajmer in Rajasthan and was posted with Delhi traffic police’s southwest division. As per reports, the police will be probing the accident from all angles as criminals from Mewat are suspected to be involved in the death of the ACP. However, it is to be noted that the Rajokri flyover is an accident prone zone. Road safety situation in India: As per World Health Organisation’s Global Status Report On Road Safety, low income and middle income countries have the highest burden and road traffic death rates. As per the report, India has the maximum road traffic deaths. It said that 62% of the world’s reported road traffic death occur in 10 countries, which in order of magnitude are India, China, US, Russia, Brazil, Iran, Mexico, Indonesia, South Africa and Egypt.
