Delhi Police special cell & IB nab a suspected spy; probe underway

As per sources, the accused also pursued studies in Deoband for 5 years.

New Delhi: In a joint operation by Delhi police Special Cell and Intelligence Bureau, a man has been arrested, on the suspicion of spying. The suspect, whose name is Umar Farooq reached Delhi from Saudi Arab. As per sources Farooq is a Bangladeshi, who possesses an Indian passport, which was issued in 2012 from Deoband in Uttar Pradesh. As per sources, the accused also pursued studies in Deoband for 5 years. The suspect came to India in 2007 to study about religion and Islam and has been accused of having links with ISIS. Now, the special cell is investigating the accused and attempting to seek details on the case.
