Delhi Police Arrest Two Afghan Nationals, Seize Drugs Worth Over Rs 1, 200 Crores
Both the arrested Afghan nationals were living in India since 2016. The seizure of methamphetamine drugs from them is one of the largest in the country.
The Special Cell of the Delhi Police arrested two Afghan nationals on Tuesday for possessing drugs worth crores of rupees. According to the report by news agency ANI, 312.5 kgs of Methamphetamine and 10 kgs of heroin worth over Rs 1,200 crores in the international market has been recovered from them.

Both the arrested Afghan nationals were living in India since 2016. The seizure of methamphetamine drugs from them is one of the largest in the country.
"It is one of the largest seizures of methamphetamine drugs in the country's history. Both Afghan nationals were living in India since 2016. Further interrogation had led to the recovery of 606 bags from a godown in Lucknow," said HGS Dhaliwal, Special CP, Delhi Police, as reported by ANI.

Earlier, on Septemebr 4, Delhi Police Crime Branch along with Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) busted an international drugs smuggling racket and arrested an Afghan national with 4 kg of high-grade heroin from the Vasant Kunj area in the national capital. The seized drug was valued Rs 20 crore in the international market.
According to the police, the Afghan national had come to India on a medical visa in 2016.
"He is an asylum seeker from UNHCR. He along with his family came to India on a medical visa in 2016. We had the information that this man was operating in Delhi-NCR. Our team developed the information and arrested him from Vasant Kunj. In total we recovered 4 kg of Heroin from him. The recovered Heroine is of high quality and is completely unadulterated. There is high demand of it in the international market,” said a crime branch official, as reported by ANI.
