Delhi Police Allow Farmers To Protest At Jantar Mantar On Thursday, 200 Agitators To Arrive In Buses

This comes as the Delhi Police has finally given permission to the farmers to carry on with their demonstrations at the Jantar Mantar.

New Delhi: The farmers will hold demonstrations at the Jantar Mantar in the national capital on Thursday against the three contentious agri laws passed by the Central government last year.

This comes as the Delhi Police has finally given permission to the farmers to carry on with their demonstrations at the Jantar Mantar, sources close to the development told ABP News.

The Delhi Police, which had earlier refused to give the farmers permission to protest at the Jantar Mantar on near the Parliament building during the Monsoon Session, has, however, kept certain conditions before the farmers.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament began earlier on Monday and is scheduled to conclude on August 13.

Around 200 farmers are likely to gather at the Jantar Mantar at around 11: 30 a.m. on Thursday and their buses will reach the venue under police supervision.

The farmers mostly from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have been camping at Delhi borders since November last year, demanding that the Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, Farmers' (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020, be rolled back and a new law made to guarantee minimum support price for crops.
