Delhi BJP MP Gautam Gambhir's Father's SUV Stolen From Outside His Residence
Police said Deepak Gambhir's vehicle, a Toyota Fortuner, was parked in front of his residence at around 3.30 pm on Wednesday but was found missing on Thursday morning.
New Delhi: Former cricketer and East Delhi BJP MP Gautam Gambhir’s father’s SUV was stolen from outside their house in Central Delhi’s Rajendra Nagar area in the early hours of Thursday, police said on Friday.
The incident took place in the early hours of Friday when the white-colored Toyota Fortuner owned by Deepak Gambhir was stolen, the police said. While the cops have found CCTV footage, they are yet to identify the accused.
An FIR has been registered at the Rajendra Nagar police station and several teams of special staff and the crime branch have been formed, to find the accused.
According to IANS, DCP Central, Sanjay Bhatia said: "Yesterday at about 3.30 PM the said car was parked in front of the house and in the morning the same was found stolen. Accordingly, a regular FIR is being registered. We also have the CCTV footage and the same is being scrutinized."
BJP MP Gautam Gambhir lives with his family in the Old Rajendra Nagar area of Delhi where the whole incident took place. The white SUV was parked outside his residence on Wednesday night but the security guard noticed that the car was missing the next morning. The guard immediately informed about this to Gambhir and an FIR was registered at the Rajendra Nagar police station.
Though there is a 24*7 security outside Gambhir's residence, the robbers were successful in stealing the car. The police are actively investigating the matter and 4 different teams have been formed including the special staff and CBI to nab the accused.
