Crackdown On PFI: 30 Detained In Delhi, Section 144 Imposed In Shaheen Bagh
Thirty people associated with PFI have been detained from the Nizamuddin and Shaheen Bagh areas of the national capital on Tuesday.
Raid On PFI: Multiple central probe agencies and state police are conducting raids on Tuesday at multiple locations as part of a crackdown against the Popular Front of India (PFI). In Delhi, thirty people associated with PFI have been detained from Nizamuddin and Shaheen Bagh areas of the national capital.
The raids were conducted early morning by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police.
"We have conducted raids at multiple locations in the national capital, including Shaheen Bagh and Nizamuddin. So, far we have detained 30 people associated with the PFI," a senior police officer told PTI.
Delhi Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) Suman Nalwa confirmed that in a "joint, coordinated action" against PFI, 30 people have been detained so far but no case has been registered as the investigation is underway.
Section 144 Imposed In Shaheen Bagh
Section 144 has been imposed in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh area, paramilitary forces have also been deployed as raids are being carried out at the location. Around a dozen of people with connections with PFI have been detained from Shaheen Bagh and nearby areas.

Jamia Millia Islamia has asked its students and teachers not to assemble in and around the campus as police have imposed restrictions under section 144 of the CrPC in the entire Okhla area.
Section 144 of the CrPC prohibits the assembly of four or more people in an area. Violation of the order is punishable under section 188 of the IPC.
Raids Across India
Several PFI activists and leaders were arrested or detained in similar raids carried out in Assam, Maharashtra, and Karnataka on Tuesday.
Madhya Pradesh Police have detained 21 people from eight districts of the state over links with PFI, state Home Minister Narottam Mishra said on Tuesday.
At least 10 people have been detained in Gujarat for questioning over alleged links with PFI in raids conducted by a joint team of the state Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the National Investigation Agency.
Twenty-five PFI activists have been arrested from different districts of Assam in a fresh crackdown against the outfit on Tuesday.
Police detained several PFI leaders in urban and rural areas of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts early on Tuesday. PFI leaders were taken into custody from Mangaluru, Ullal, Talapady and other areas in the DK district.
Police arrested four activists of PFI from different locations in Maharashtra's Thane district for alleged anti-national activities.
