The vaccination centers witnessed huge rush post the announcement that Mumbai local train services will resume from August 15 for those who have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The locals in Mumbai are elated over the announcement to resume local train services, but it is also important in view of the same to get both doses of the vaccine.

Several people returned disappointed from the vaccination centers on Thursday after finding them closed.

BMC Mayor Kishori Pednekar put the onus on the Centre when asked when the vaccines will be made available.

Pednekar said the Central government sends vaccines to the states, adding the reason for less vaccines stock in Mumbai is that the city has not received them as required.

“If the Central government says then we will go and collect the vaccines,” she said.

Lauding Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray, Pednekar said the former was trying his best to get the vaccines through the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) route.

Congress corporator Ravi Raja, who is leader of opposition in the BMC, said the municipal corporation is only allowing people with both doses at places like trains, malls, restaurants and hotels.
